Young Guns II Storyline

The movie begins with the aging Brushy Bill Roberts narrating his story to a young historian. His claim? He claims that he is the famous outlaw William H. Bonney, alias Billy the Kid, who was supposedly shot and killed by Patrick Floyd Garrett in 1881. The old man gives a very convincing story on how he and Garrett, along with Arkansas Dave Rudabaugh, Chavez y Chavez, Doc Skurlock, and a few others led the outlaw life and avoided the law, as they were wanted men. Garrett, a friend of Billy's, was paid by John Chisum, a cattle king, to eliminate Billy the Kid. So, Garrett and Ashmun Upson set out on a journey to find Billy the Kid.

The last thing heard before the screen fades to black at the end is Billy the Kid's ('Emilio Estevez' (qv)) unique laugh. In _Amadeus (1984)_ (qv), the last thing heard before the screen fades to black is Mozart's ('Tom Hulce' (qv)) unique laugh.
During his escape from jail, Billy shouts out "Hello, Bob" before shooting Bob Ollinger, and "Goodbye, Bob" after killing him -- the exact same dialogue that the real Billy the Kid used during the incident.
SPOILER: The real Jose Chavez Y Chavez also survived the Lincoln County wars, dying peacefully in 1923.
SPOILER: Doc Scurlock (played by 'Kiefer Sutherland' (qv)) is shot in the chest as he is leaving the hideout. In reality, it was Charlie Bowdre who was killed in that fashion. The character of Charlie was killed off prematurely in _Young Guns (1988)_ (qv).
In the movie _Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973)_ (qv), 'James Coburn' (as Pat Garrett) says the line: "Why don't you take your money, shove it up your ass, and set fire to it." In 'Young Guns II', James Coburn (now in the role of John Chisum) says: "Well you can take those figures, and shove them up your arrogant little ass, and set fire to them."
