A slick New York publicist (Farrell) who picks up a ringing receiver in a phone booth is told that if he hangs up, he'll be killed... and the little red light from a laser rifle sight is proof that the caller isn't kidding.

Phone Booth goofs

FAKE: When the camera pans on Stu coming around a corner to the phone booth, extras (especially one with a box) can be seen standing very still and not moving. Only when Stu comes around the corner do they start moving.
FAKE: SPOILER: At the end of the film when Stu is shown the body of the dead pizza guy, the 'dead body' can be seen breathing (throat is moving up and down).
CONT: The body of the deceased man disappears in the shot where the police cars come around the corner and park, but reappears in subsequent shots.
CONT: The baseball bat disappears and reappears several times from the street in front of the phone booth.
CREW: When Stu moves his face in one of the close-ups you can see an ear piece in his left ear.

Phone Booth trivia

'Michael Bay' (qv) considered directing. When he met with the writer and producers, the first thing he asked was "How can we get him out of the phone booth?"
The events of the film occur in real time.
'Larry Cohen (I)' (qv) said at one point that he pitched the idea to 'Tony Curtis (I)' (qv) who was interested, but Curtis made too many demands, so producers passed on him.
All scenes were shot in order as they happened.
