Judge Dredd Storyline

The Year is 2139. The Planet Earth has changed into a virtually uninhabitable place called the "Cursed Earth". All of the Earth's population have crowded into the cities across the planet, now known as "Mega Cities". The crimes in these "Mega cities" became so violent and so powerful, that the regular justice system was powerless to contain, then it collapsed completely. But, a new Justice System came from the ashes, They were 3 justice systems in 1 (Police, Jury and executioner), they were called "Judges". In Mega City 1 (formarly, New York), There was a Judge, named Joseph Dredd, who was the toughest and most stringent Judge in history. One day, he was charged with murder. He was tried and sentenced to life in prison because of it. Then, Dredd found out that it was in fact a person who shares his DNA. Former Judge Rico. Now, Dredd has to find out what Rico is planning to do, and to discover about his past.

Judge Dredd trivia

In the Dredd comics, tradition dictates that Dredd rarely takes off his helmet, thus his face has mostly only fleetingly appeared in full, but the producers obviously would not allow an expensive performer such 'Sylvester Stallone' (qv) to never show his face clearly.
In an interview, 'Rob Schneider (I)' (qv) claimed that the film crew gave 'Sylvester Stallone' (qv) extra fire retardant on the back of his costume for the fiery exhaust shaft scene, while Mr. Schnieder got no fire retardant at all.
The Welsh rock group 'Manic Street Preachers' (qv) were supposed to compose the title song for the film, but after the disappearance of one of their members, they chose not to go on with the production and the project was abandoned. In 2003 they finally released the song, titled "Judge Yr'self".
The Coen brothers, 'Peter Hewitt' (qv) and 'Richard Stanley (I)' (qv) all reputedly turned down the chance to direct.
Director 'Danny Cannon (I)' (qv) was so disheartened over his constant creative disputes with 'Sylvester Stallone' (qv) that he swore he would never again work with another big-name actor. He also claimed that the final version was completely different from the script, due to the changes Stallone demanded.

Judge Dredd: Emotions... there ought to be a law against them.
Herman Ferguson: I'm free, you're toast!
Judge Dredd: Actually, you're toast. I forgot to mention it: your new friends, they're cannibals.
[on the flight to Aspen]
Herman Ferguson: Dredd? What are you doing here?
Judge Dredd: I was convicted of a crime. Wrongly.
Herman Ferguson: [laughs] That's kinda weird! What are the odds? Two wrongly convicted guys sitting right next to each other.?
Judge Dredd: You received the sentence the law required.
Herman Ferguson: Five years? Just for saving my own ass? That was a mistake!
Judge Dredd: The law doesn't... make mistakes.
Herman Ferguson: Really? Then how do you explain what happened to you? You can't, can you? Great. Mr. "I am the law" can't. So maybe this is some kind of typo. Maybe it's a glitch. Or maybe it's *poetic justice*.
Rico: The innocent only exist until they inevitably become perpatrators. Guilt or innocence is a matter of timing.
